'We all dress for Bill' - Anna Wintour
'Money is the cheapest thing...' - Bill Cunningham
Numerous things stood out to me whilst watching 'New York' featuring Bill Cunningham. The glamorous fashion scene which he immerses himself in for work completely contradicts the way in which he chooses to live his life. His small cluttered modest studio/home reflects his thoughts on money and its worth 'money is the cheapest thing', which is one of the many things I admire about Bill Cunningham.
His importance as well as admiration within the fashion industry is another aspect which I took away from the film. He is on the guest list for every socialite event in New York City, fashion icons are filled with admiration: Anna Wintour stated 'we all dress for bill'. However he is only interested in the clothes, not the celebrities: 'I'm not interested in celebrities, with their free dresses I'm interested in clothes' demonstrating his genuine love and passion for clothes.
